Riley M.

Hi, I'm Riley! While my family is from Northern California, I grew up moving throughout the United States as a military kid. I moved to Colorado for college and absolutely fell in love with the outdoors and life in the mountains.

Currently I am in my third year as a 1st grade teacher, although I have been working with children in various roles for 10 years. I have extensive babysitting experience with infants, toddlers and children under six. I was also a nanny during college for three years to twin seven year old boys, one of whom was neurodivergent. I was able to blend my love for working with children and the outdoors through several jobs; from founding an organization that takes 8-10 year olds backpacking, working at a high adventure summer camp for teens, and teaching 4th graders in outdoor school, where students spend their whole day outside learning about the local ecosystem. When I am working with kids, I love creating hands-on learning experiences through arts projects and outdoor activities. I am very present, active, and creative with kids and believe in a no technology policy.

I have both my B.A. in Environmental Studies and my Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Colorado College. I also have my Wilderness First Responder, which is a more advanced CPR/First Aid certification. During my free time, I enjoy mountain biking, trail running, rafting, and snowboarding. Anything that gets me outside! I also love baking healthy treats and reading, both of which I enjoy doing with kiddos. I look forward to connecting with your family!
