Mia R.
My name is Mia. I grew up in Boulder and spent the last several years living in the Pacific Northwest, as well as traveling to different countries and experiencing new cultures. While I loved my time in the Pacific Northwest, I eventually found myself missing Colorado's sunshine, so I moved back this past November. Since returning, I have been working as a graphic designer and spent this winter coaching with AVSC.
I attended Western Washington University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and minored in Spanish. During college and beyond, I had the opportunity to travel throughout South America, where I practiced my Spanish and gained valuable experiences connecting with people from different backgrounds. I speak conversational Spanish and enjoy opportunities to continue learning and using the language.
I have experience caring for children ranging from infants to young teenagers and genuinely enjoy working with all age groups. Throughout high school, I worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor, which taught me responsibility, patience, and the importance of creating a safe environment for children. I understand the importance of balancing safety with fun and helping kids feel confident and supported.
I am an active, outdoors-oriented person and love sharing that enthusiasm with children. Some of my favorite activities include hiking, skiing, mountain biking, fishing, camping, and exploring new places. I also enjoy arts and crafts, creative projects, and finding fun ways to encourage curiosity and imagination. Whether we're spending the day outside on an adventure, working on an art project, helping with homework, or simply playing games, I strive to create a positive, engaging, and supportive environment where kids can have fun and be themselves.
