Maria S.
My name is Maria N Saucedo, I’m 42 years old and a mother of two, 19 years old girl and 5 years old boy. Originally from Mexico, I moved to Roaring Fork Valley with my parents in 1999 at the age of 16. I attended Basalt High School and graduated 2003.
I bring over 15 years of experience caring for children, including newborns, toddlers, and school aged kids and I’ve spent six of those years as a toddler teacher in a classroom setting at Solara Day Care, now Honey Tree. I’m a CPR and First Aid certified, have a certification in Early Childhood Education, and currently pursuing additional training to become a Newborn Care Specialist and Baby Sleep Training Specialist.
I speak both English and Spanish fluently which allows me to communicate easily with children and families in bilingual households.
I’m known as independent, gentle, patient, fun loving person. My goal is provide nurturing, consistent care and routines that supports children development and confidence while creating a safe loving and structured environment where children thrive and give parents peace of mind knowing their little ones are well cared for.
As an outdoor person I enjoyed exercise, outdoor walks, hikes, camping, ride bike and spend every moment with my family and be in touch with nature most of the time. Having said that, I love to be outdoors with kids most or the time like planing park picnics, swimming, trips to the library, read books, ice skating, sledding, hiking and plan structured activities according to the child’s age. I believe this helps me to build strong connections with children and make a smooth daily transitions.
