Hi! I’m Karen! I’ve been local to Colorado since 1992 and local to our valley since 1999. Born and raised in Texas, like many I have always felt called to the mountains.

A graduate of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX I received a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics, Psychology and Substance Abuse Studies. Moved to Green Mountain Falls, CO. accepting a position as Assistant Site Director at a Residential Treatment Center for girls age 11-17. Worked as a Child Protection Caseworker in Manitou Springs, CO for three years and eventually made it to our Amazing valley 26 years ago.

My experience in childcare, specifically infants is extensive. Ranging from multiple seasons Supervising the Infant room at Buttermilk, Ski Instructor for ages 2- 5 to Private nannying for locals and vacationers throughout the valley over the years. I have had the honor to be the Very First baby sitter for many families traveling to Aspen with their newborns.

I am also a Dream Coach and teach Dream workshops locally. I enjoy connecting to children on an imaginative level telling stories and listening to theirs! I prefer to be outside when possible, hiking to hidden waterfalls or SUPing on secret high mountain lakes with a good book are my favs. It’s fun to take children on outdoor adventures and also provide projects indoors for those cozy weather days.

It has always been important to me to help families, especially new parents maximize the precious time that they have here. I will be as flexible and adaptable as possible to help make that happen!
