My name is Andréia, I am originally from Brazil, I was in my first year of College studying tourism and hospitality; when I saw an advertisement for an exchange program through an agency called Eur Au Pair, announcing an intercultural program where I would provide child care services and attend school for a period of time and experience the culture.
This idea sounded so amazing, many families associated with the agency got in contact with me, but there was a special feeling of connection with the family that we mutually chose each other here in Colorado and I am very pleased to say the kids are much bigger now and we still are connected.
At the time the family lived a in beautiful golf course area and there were a lot of parents with children age 6 months to 13 years old, and when I had extra time off I used to baby sit for them, as well.
I would do activities such as taking walks outside with kids, playing at the park, playing in the backyard and going to the swimming pool with them. We also enjoyed playing games indoor and listen to Mozart. I always thought Mozart had a calming, soothing effect especially when it was time to start settling down.
I have two children of my own, my daughter is a Sophomore this year and my son is a Freshman in College studying Business Administration. My husband has lived in the Valley for many years and through this entire journey, I felt the need to share my journey and I wrote a book called “ Create a Great, Brand New Life”, I long to live a fun, fulfilled life and offer care and kindness in along the journey.
